Living “Wilder.”

Is your Christian life adventurous? Why not? Shouldn’t our faith be something wild and exciting?

In today’s post, I want to shake things up a bit and share a blessing with you all.  Instead of talking about myself, and what God is doing in my world, I would like to showcase another author I’ve made ties with.  Author and speaker Philip Wilder lives a calling with a clear message: to show people that the Christian life is not meant to be boring.

Boring you ask?

Do you feel the Christian life is boring?

That’s a good question.  If you’ve answered yes, then perhaps it’s time to revisit some of the frameworks of your beliefs.  Jesus never intended our faith to be boring.  Philip Wilder’s faith is not boring.  Mine is not either.  If we read scripture and take it for what it is, there’s nothing boring about it.  From cover to cover, the Bible is a wild adventure.  In it, we read about slaying giants, great steps of faith, shipwrecks, miracles, feats of strength, and mighty acts of valor.  Boring?  Nah.  There’s no room for boring if you actually read what is in the Good Book.

Based in Colorado, Philip Wilder is living the Christian walk out in the most adventurous way. He challenges believers to live “wild steps of faith,” and fills his schedule with podcasts, writing books, going on mission trips, and most recently, doing drone videos.

One day while flipping through Facebook I caught a glimpse of his new drone video.  The video itself caught hold of me and wouldn’t let me go.  I was floored when I watched it.  I watched it again.  I couldn’t believe he shot all the images himself. The wording and phrasing he accompanied the film to was incredibly inspirational to me. The possibilities ran wild in my own head: What could God do with such a film like this?  I began to think deep.  The dreamy head of mine thought it endless.

To cut to the chase, I simply had to ask Philip about this new endeavor of his.  I met up with Philip via zoom to interview him: something I think you will certainly enjoy.  So with no further introduction needed, here’s the link to the interview.

Living the Christian walk is more than just living. We are called to an adventure. A journey of living wilder. Don’t forget to check out the same drone video that captured me.  Like it.  Share it.  Leave a comment. It’s too good to keep quiet.
