Many times, we lose sight of who we are. Stress, busy schedules, and hardship cloud clear vision, and we only see the remnants of our broken, empty pieces. It is in these moments when we rely on the world’s opinions to form perspectives of our own, and as though we look into a mirror—which has no point of view by itself—we trust the information which bounces back to us. By doing this, we usually miss seeing our true selves.

I forgot what it had felt like to dream. When I realized this—and permitted myself to again reflect on my hopes and desires—it was as if I had surfaced from being underwater, filling my lungs with a giant breath of fresh air.
