Running High & Dry on Patience.
I am not a handyman by any stretch. It’s not that I can’t fix things, it’s just that I was raised with a “patch it and keep going” mentality from growing up on the farm. A piece of baler twine, a self-tapping screw, or some duct tape can do a lot, right? But since my living room is not a barn (although my wife thinks it looks and smells like one sometimes), my “get by” approach to the honey-do list can be contentious at times. And that can test my patience.
Don’t we all have our patience tested at times?
And then the dryer broke.
Rebirth, Renewal.
I’m not one for resolutions, but rebirth and renewal excite me.
This morning I awoke with an energy I haven’t known for quite some time. I could sense something different. Something was new, something exciting. My contacts plopped themselves in, my teeth were brushed. I could see light from the bathroom window. I crept quiet through our bedroom; my wife was still sleeping. And then, stepping into the hall, beams of sunlight greeted me sweetly.
It looked glorious.
Broken Steeples.
Yes, I’m an author of fiction, but today I write a true story. I kid you not. This really happened. And I could take you there. I traveled the road in my own pickup truck last week. And what a journey it was! Epic. But don’t we all love a good journey? It’s deep and rooted within us to enjoy the journey experience. Perhaps because we are all on one. Perhaps because we all can relate.
Chase Your Dream: Part 2
We build one upon another. No matter what level or stage of dream chasing we are in, there is always opportunity to reach down and grab the hand of someone who is not quite so high on the dream-chasing ladder as you are on. Isn’t that what we are called to? Aren’t we to be there for each other?
